“But You Eat Chicken, Right?” If you don’t eat meat and you’ve ever told a meat eater so, you’ve probably been asked that more times than you can care to remember. If you are anything like me, you still haven’t come up with the perfect answer to such a silly question. This is a blog about my life as a vegetarian, a mom, and trying to be the best I possibly can at both.
I am a thirty something freelance writer and stay at home mommy to an eleven month old boy. I’ve been a vegetarian for almost seven years (minus a very major screw up post-pregnancy that you can read about here), and I spent about two years somewhere in there as a vegan. We have one old dog, one young-ish dog, and one sweet old cat. The baby and I are vegetarians, and my husband is a sort-of vegetarian at home and a meat eater when out. It works for us. Life is good.
I have been blogging on and off for about two years, and have met a lot of amazing people along the way. The original “But You Eat Chicken, Right?” focused mainly on animal rights and vegetarianism. But as life changes, so must the blog. Here you’ll find me talking not only about those issues, but also about being a mom, raising a vegetarian child, living a healthy, green-ish lifestyle in the south, and all of the things that come along with it.

Awesome blog! Always inspirational to find someone vegan, keep it up!
What type of dog is Annie? I recently got a puppy and they mentioned she was a full lab, but i have not seen any labs with her coloring. Annie looks the exact same down to the white front paws.
You may be able to solve the mystery of my dogs breed.
Thanks , Jeana
